oikos St. Gallen has been shortlisted as a finalist in the category of student engagement in the International Green Gown Awards 2021! These awards seek to identify those universities around the world undertaking empowering sustainable initiatives and bringing us closer to achieving the sustainable development goals by 2030.
Since 1987, the oikos initiative in St.Gallen has grown from the oikos Conference into nine diverse projects in different fields of sustainability (e.g. quality education, health, and wellbeing, and social innovation). Our projects predominantly aim to tackle 4 of the 17 sustainable development goals:
Raising awareness for sustainability is the first step in solving the wicked challenges we are facing today. We do so in the motto of: be informed, get involved, make a difference! As future leaders, we students must learn, both in the classroom and through experience, to take responsibility for change towards more resilient organizations, markets, and policies. We are absolutely thrilled that our achievements and hard work are being recognized by such an esteemed award!
